WHY I chose IBE and WHY it is now the only extension method I offer

I have been certified in extensions since 2019. Since then, I have been certified in three different hand tied methods, along with two certifications in other methods of extensions. I started my IBE journey in April 2022 and have since switched over all of my extension clients to this new and improved method. Not only do you have to be approved and accepted through an application process in order to do IBE, but they offer an extensive training where you work one on one with a mentor and must be approved and certified at each step along the way in order to ensure perfection. I only offer IBE to my clients because it's quality is unmatched. It gives a seamless blend, tension free bead work, meticulous stitch work, flexibility the day of the install and comfort for the client. Everything is also 100% custom tailed to each individual client to give the most seamless blend. Don't believe me? Try it for yourself.

FAQ's about extensions...

How much does IBE cost?

Each extension client has their own customized experience. I offer different install packages based on each guests personal goals. Depending on the number of rows you get, if you require additional wefts of hair, etc. Extension packages range from $700-$1500+. Custom coloring of the extension hair is included to create a seamless blend. Color packages for your natural hair are additional. Please see my booking portal below for my color pricing menu. Consultation is required to give an accurate extension quote.

How many rows will I need?

How much hair is on one row?

How will I know if I need additional hair?

One row is ideal for anyone wanting to add fullness. Two rows are able to give thickness and add length (the amount of length will vary.) Three rows can be installed, upon request. The goal is for people to say "WOW, your hair looks great!" and not say "Wow, your hair extensions look great!" Therefore it is crucial that we match your natural hair density. If you have thick hair naturally, be prepared to need extra extension hair to match. For fine hair, it is best that we don't overdo it to avoid looking artificial. Each row holds 3-5 wefts (pieces) of hair. The amount of wefts will be at stylist discretion. If you require additional wefts to create extra fullness or length, they can be purchased individually a la cart. For example, if you have very thick hair or a short, blunt cut... you will need additional wefts or possibly a third row to create a seamless blend.

How long does the hair last?

The better you take care of your extensions, the longer is lasts. The longevity of well taken care of  hair is about 9 months to a year.  After this time, you will want to replace your extension hair. As you wear your hair, it will inevitebly thin out and shorten over time with natural shedding and trims. Unlike your natural hair, the extension hair will not replenish itself. You can expect your extensions to shrink by a couple of inches over its lifespan.

Will extensions ruin my natural hair?

IBE will not cause damage to natural hair when installed correctly and as long as client follows all proper home care and attends regular maintenance appointments every 6-9 weeks.

FAQ's

Can you swim with IBE?

Yes, you can swim with extensions, all though there are important tips to remember in order to protect your extension hair. I recommend applying a hair mask or lots of conditioner to your extensions PRIOR to getting in any body of water. IF you can avoid getting your extension hair wet, even better. After exposing your hair to chlorine or salt water, I recommend washing your hair twice in order to rid of any build up and follow with a conditioning masque and oil to nourish the hair.

BLONDES: avoid sunscreen near your extensions at all costs. Due to chemicals in sunscreen, it can turn lighter extension hair peach or orange and that pigment is nearly impossible to remove. In the event of this happening, new wefts will need to be purchased at the expense of the client

Can the extension hair be colored?

Yes! The extension hair can be altered slightly. I can root them, tone them and lowlight them. However, they can not be lightened. If you want to change up your own hair color, we can simply add in a few wefts of new hair to mix with the old, in order to create a subtle color change. If you want to completely change your hair color, new hair will need to be purchased.

Who is a good candidate for Invisible Bead Extensions?

It is recommended that your natural hair be at least shoulder length in order to create a good blend. Extremely fine hair guests may want to avoid putting tension on the natural hair.

FAQ's

Are they hard to take care of?

No, not at all! There are a few golden rules to follow, such as using the right products, brushing frequently, and wearing your hair in a low pony or braid to bed. Keep in mind, it is more hair. This seems like an obvious statement but it is more hair to manage. If you are someone who doesn't typically enjoy doing your hair, it may be more difficult to maintain.

What is the maintenance like?

I recommend coming in at 6 weeks for your first maintenance appointment, in order to check your progress and make sure proper home care is being executed to avoid matting and tangling. Moving forward, move-up appointments can be 7, 8 or even 9 weeks depending on how quickly your hair grows.

I recommend scheduling your move-ups in coordination with your color appointments. If you get your hair colored every 8 weeks, I would recommend doing your color and extension maintenance at the same appointment. If if you don't color your hair as often, you may choose to get your hair colored at every other move-up appointment. OR the opposite and color every 4 weeks and do a move up every 8 weeks, etc. We will discuss your personal preferences and come up with a perfect plan for you!
